There is nothing that can be done without an initial site analysis.
Assessing the scope of the job and developing a plan of action is probably the most important task that must be completed. Simply put, without a comprehensive assessment of the situation, no decision can be made about acceptable levels of downtime, acceptable levels of data loss, and the financial commitment to overcome any shortfalls. In short, we must manage the process by the facts we know to be true, not by the fictions we believe to be true. Once we have a thorough analysis in hand, we can make informed decisions about:
- · why the work needs to be done
- · what work needs to be down,
- · how the work will be done
- · when the work will be done
- · where the work will be done
- · who will be involved in the project
- · how much it will cost
- When all these questions have been answered completely, we will have an action plan that we can implement.
